There are 4 different hair extension methods that we provide in the salon
- Silke Mircobeads (Itip) – these are applied using in copper mini bead that when taking a small piece of the natural hair it is threaded into the bead together with the strand of hair extension and clamped down. These last 3 to 4 months and can be reused which means you can come to the salon to have them removed and then refitted again using the same hair. The life span on the hair is usually about a year. These are very gentle on the natural hair causing no damage once looked after and removed professionally. This method is suitable for all hair types but works better in medium to thick hair.
- Silke Keratin bonds (Flat tip) – these are applied using the finest if Italian keratin glue. These last 4 to 6 months depending on the natural hair growth. This method of extensions cannot be reused. Keratin bonds are ideal for fine hair but are also suitable for all hair types. The big plus with using keratin bonds is that they can be half bonded meaning that we are make they so small that you would not notice these in the natural hair at all.
- Silke Tapes – tape extensions are great for anyone who more so wants to add just volume although that’s not to say that length cant be added. They are great for the client that doesn’t tie their hair up regularly and who also needs to have their colour done every 6 to 8 weeks so tape extenions do need to be retaped every 6 to 8 weeks. Tapes can also be reused and last up to a year. These are suitable for all hair types.
- Silke nanobeads – the newest member to the Silke team. Nanobeads are very similar to mircobeads except are smaller again. These are only new out this year. They are great for fine hair but suitable for al hair types. They are almost invisible in the natural hair. Nanobeads can also be reused and will last up to a year once looked after well.
